We are proud of our story and hope you'll take the time to learn more about us!
With its humble beginning as a five and dime store in Southern Utah, John and Beth Hurst started the Hurst Variety store with a loan from Beth’s father, Peter Fredrick Bruhn. Their promise to their customers from their opening day of business was to “provide our customers with a variety of products at pleasing prices.”
Today, in its 3rd generation of family ownership and management, Hurst Stores has evolved from a five and dime store to a five store Ace Hardware chain throughout the state of Utah. Our variety roots are evident in many of the stores with expanded selections of fabrics, sporting goods, clothing, and of course candy! Our relationship with Ace Hardware has given Hurst Store’s the ability to leverage their buying power with over 5,000 independent retailers across the country. Many with a similar story as Hurst’s, family owned and locally operated. This gives Hurst Stores the unique advantage to tailor their product selections to their neighborhoods and communities with the buying power to compete with the world’s largest retailers. Values that squarely align with John and Beth Hurst’s commitment to their first customers and is Hurst Store’s promise to their customers today: “A variety of products at prices that please, Satisfaction Guaranteed”
